who we are

A national movement uniting board riding communities through local clubs, competitions, philanthropy and cultural engagement.

Preserving the values of surf culture while fostering growth and inclusion.

WHAT IS USBRC?

The U.S. Board Riders Clubs (USBRC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to fostering community through surfing.

Founded in 2016 as the West Coast Board Riders, USBRC has grown into a nationwide movement connecting more than 60 local surf clubs from Hawaii to New Jersey.

Our mission is simple - to unite surfers of all ages - from groms to legends - through friendly competition, mentorship and community.

Whether in the water or on the beach, USBRC brings people together to celebrate the culture, spirit and camaraderie that define American surfing.

COMMUNITY AND VISION

We believe the future of surfing is local and deeply connected. Our network of surfers, families and clubs strengthens hometown surf communities while linking them to a national movement rooted in respect, sustainability and stoke.

Members across the country share their passion for surfing while mentoring youth, hosting visiting surfers and giving back through environmental and community programs.

Every chapter reflects the soul of its coast - and everyone has a place here.

COMPETITIONS AND IMPACT

USBR hosts regional and national surfing competitions, including the annual U.S. Board Riders National Championship and the West Coast Wheat Cup. These events showcase top surfers across age divisions, from groms to seasoned pros, in an innovative team format.

Clubs compete not just for trophies, but for the pride of their surf communities. Events are live-streamed worldwide, spotlighting both local surf culture and USBRC’s commitment to sustainability.
